In my research prior to dropping over $1000 for an Explorer SE, I read the online product manual cover to cover. I'd like to get a couple of clarifications. I appreciate any information those of you with experience on the machine can provide regarding:
1)VCO pinpointing - Manual didn't say a lot about it - it still showed basically the old "X over the target" maneuver. When I think of VCO pinpointing (like on the DFX and Fishers I have used) it's absolutely accurate to a central spot on the coil. Is that the way it works on the SE? Is there a point on the coil by which you can use the VCO to determine exactly where the target is in relation to that point?
2)XS lower rods - can they be used on the SE? I know it won't look 'cool' but that's never been a huge concern of mine - otherwise I probably wouldn't even be swinging a detector.
