Got a used 3x18 coil from Richard at Backwoods (great to deal with) this looked almost new, so I tried it out at a park ,ran in super tune at above 5c mark , knocked out quarters at 8in-dimes at 9 max. Medium moisture dirt, mild ground-medium sweep speed.
Those of you with previous experience with the Bigfoot on a DFX same kind of feel, the 3x18 Tesoro is a bit more heavy and pinpoints at the top or rear of the coil ,with a little time, the pinpoint was easy to master-notch sound breakup was similar to other Tesoro coils. Fast for coin shooting large areas-I haven't checked for small target signals yet. Found a soda can top @ 11in, so larger targets will be detected at a medium sweep
I think the Vaqureo has a faster recovery speed than the DFX ,so a target can be detected with a slightly faster sweep. The Vaq & the 3x18 coil are a good match up for fast coin shooting
I had always wondered how the Bigfoot coil would compare to the Tesoro 3x18-Jury still out
At least the 3x18 is still made by Tesoro-the only alternative is a used Bigfoot for brand "W"
