I have been told that the threshold and manual ground balance only work in the all metal mode and not the disc mode. Is this correct? If so, what real good are they as most people will have at least some disc set 90%+ of the time won't they? Why not just use a Silver UMax?

When you do the ground balance.......in all metal,it tunes the detector to the ground you are hunting on. Once ground balanced you can return it to motion disc. mode and do your hunting in disc. It is a much deeper hunter than the Silver uMax.

The V is ground balanced in the disc mode when it is balanced in the AM mode. This is not true for all detectors.
