Vaquero with or without high-tone

Hi all,
I've pretty much decided that the Vaquero w/b a great detector for my needs. My question: What is high tone? I know it is an option you can have installed, but what is it and what are the advantages/disadvantages of having it?
Thanks much.
HH

It is said that high tone makes the sounds of deep coins stand out a bit more in amongst the iron, it has also been said that an old detectorist might not be able to hear the high tone on the deeper coins because they are slightly quieter signals and his hearing might not be good enough to hear the sounds.
The low tone is said to give a similar sounding signal as deep iron on some of the deeper targets.
It will be good to see what other detectorists have to say on this as i have not personally had the pleasure of listening to the high and low tone sounds on the same targets. all the best Les UK

The high tone sounds more like a regular Tesoro.

When the Cibola and Vaquero had a lower tone and some did not like it.
So they offered the low tone option.

I like the low tone.

HH,

Personally, I prefer the high tone for that reason. It began especially noticeable on the Tejon with its adjustable audio frequency. Bigger iron targets will some times give you a "good" reading but with the high tone machine it has a distinctive sound.
