Vaquero warbling tone on all metal

I was wondering if anyone else has this problem: My "V" seems to have a warbling tone when I switch to all metal. I try to adjust the threshold to a low volume around 2 o'clock and it warbles a little like someone gargling. I just noticed this last night in my basement. (Haven't tested it outside as it was too cold). Any ideas? The battery was fairly good with 5 beeps.

You should brave the cold and try it away from the house.

It's probably EMI. Mine does the same thing in my basement (have some fluorescent lights, TV, Sat box, etc) down there and in all metal mode, it does not sound the same when outside. Much more warbly and not as smooth as when running all metal outside.

I know that some of the Tesoro's I have had over the years had a slight warbling threshold, I wouldn't call it a problem or a defect as they worked just fine.

Just about every detector I ever turn on inside acts totally different and is usually way noisier than when outside.

The weather has been crazy, we had heavy ice rain for a couple of days then it got below zero with wind chill of 30 below it is 12 degrees as I type this and they are calling for rain and almost 50 degrees this Saturday. Weather is like a roller coaster.
