Vaquero vs. 1236-X2?

OldeTymer

New member
How do these two compare in the following attributes:

1. Target separation, and signal recovery response?

2. Iron rejection at lowest setting?

3. Effective depth in discriminate mode?

Thanks for your input,
OldeTymer

Hello Olde Tymer.....without a doubt, the Vaquero is one of the quickest in recovery time, thus one of the best at target separation. Much like the original ElDorado, it is hard to beat in that category. Iron rejection is good, but if you are hunting old indian wars battle sites like I do, I don't want to miss any of the iron trade points, so I keep the discrim very low. I have dug eagle buttons as deep as 10", an 1852 Colt Revolver at 16", and coins regularly down in the 8" to 12" range. The Vaquero is one hot machine, and unlike the old ElDorado, it doesn't wear your arm out in a day of hunting.

Thanks Chuck,

I do hunt Indian Wars sites, as well as Frontier Military etc. I have a Vaquero enroute.

Thanks again for the input. Maybe I'll see you out on the plains.

Let's do it. I'm only a couple of miles from you. Send me a PM, and maybe we can work something out.
