Vaquero Tone Change

Well I finally made the decision to change my high tone Vaquero to the original low tone. The high tone was making my ears ring and hurt, so I put it in the mail today to Tesoro for them to change it. I guess I'm one of the unlucky few that can't tolerate a high tone detector. I sure wanted to give my brand spanking new 5.75 concentric coil a spin to see how it would do in the trashy parks that I hunt , but it will have to wait. Luckily, I'll be out of town for half the time it takes to ship it there and back.

On another note, I'm pondering if I should see if I can get the high tone changed on my Bandido II uMax or trade it for something else that has a low tone. I really like the Bandido a lot, because it hits super hard on nickels and gold. I've found more nickels with it than any other detector that I've ever used. Here's a link with some pictures of it. It's a thing of beauty. Bandido II uMax

Somebody help me make a decision.

or you could dig my old Calrads out of the dump, just terrible headphones, but they were NOT loud, maybe some cheaper headphones would help. I'm just trying to help you keep a wonderfull detector..... your Bandido ll

Bobby S,

Why would you consider the Calrads as good headphones, mine were terrible. And they came free with one of my new detectors I bought, still overpriced at that. They probably cost me a few targets because the audio was too weak. I have used the DetectorPro Uniprobe headphones now going on six years, great headphones, great sound and with a powerfull pulse induction pinpoiner built into them, won't leave home without them.

Like I said in my post...A Tesoro dealer, and the the service production manager at the factory recommened them for me. He said after years of detecting and many expensive headphones, he recommends them to anybody and they have good results. Why would a dealer have me buy a cheaper pair of headphones if he could of simply tried to sway me in the right direction? The ones I'm getting might be a different kind than the ones you had, but still. He said they work the best with Tesoro detectors and thats what im getting. Just telling people that something is flat out terrible isnt exactly fair to those who might find them beneficial.

Im not trying to sound rude or anything either..so my apologies if it seems like I am...I guess it just comes down to user...I might like 'em I might not..i'm just gettin back into detecting so i didnt want anything to expensive at the moment

OK by me Bobby, use em and lose em:shrug:

you are not the only one, high tones give me headaches too. low tones all the way
