Just received and assembled my new Vaquero. We are supposed to have high 40s to 50s for the next few days here in upper Mi. Will be heading to our favorite old lumber town to give it a try. I have had great success with my Umax detectors but am hoping for greater depth since much of the areas are covered with 3-4 inch's and more of thick moss which keeps the coil that far from from the actual ground surface. We shall see.

It'll get better depth than the Micromax machines. At least that's been my experience. I just got a slightly used black Vaquero in the mail today. It's the third I've owned and this time, I'm never gonna let it go. Amazing, simple machine. Tesoro may have bombed in their Cazador roll out or lack thereof, but there aren't many machines on the market that have a better disc circuit and the depth of the Vaquero. Or all Tesoros for that matter.

I've really enjoyed my Vaquero. Got both the stock coil and the 5.75 inch concentric. Been running the small coil lately with great success. The properties I hunt are loaded with trash and the smaller coil helps a bunch in picking through the mess. You'll enjoy the machine especially after you learn the language it speaks. Loads of information in the tone quality and a bit of thumbing the discrimination knob. About all I could ask for is for it to be waterproof without changing the size or handling qualities. The Vaquero is a wonderful machine.

Jmc I think you've been getting the same stuff as me don't you have a compared too? I have the same coils but I have the 5.75 DD coil instead of concentric.
