Vaquero....silver vs.clad

dlh

New member
I haven't found any silver yet and still learning the Vaquero, but want to know if there will be any difference in the target id / tone if I am over silver vs clad coin? Let say a dime or quarter sitting flat in the hole.

Thanks in advance
Denis

I don't have a Vaquero, but I do have a Tejon and I don't think you will be able to tell silver or clad, now between junk and coin you may pickup some difference in the sound. This gets into what is called the language, for me so far it seems to be the sound edges or start and stop. The junk seems to be sharp on the edges where the good targets like coins seems to have soft edges.

Now I am not talking disc accept or reject.

I can tell you a quarter has a softer signal than a dime does. Dimes tend to hit hard. Silver or clad.
