vaquero shift frequencies

those of you that own a vaq probably know your your machine inside and out, well i don't know if this is coinsidence or not but i decided to hunt in the lower freq of shift switch and it seemed like the the coin targets were coming to life and just recently have been hunting the same spots with a lot better results can that little bit make that much difference?

You never know?i have used the switch around power lines and got different results.Even though it is a small change it is still a change and it is amazing what different frequencies can do.By the way today i just put on the 10x5 elliptical W/S on the vaq and was amazed at the performance of this little coil.

yaeh and forgot to mention also i tried the higher frequency as well and got crap result and another thing i tried when i came across a good target i tried all of the freq's and the lower one seem to bark at me better espeacialy old coins

I have looked the manual over to see which number matches which frequency.I take it middle switch position 1=14.3,2=14.5,3=14.7.I don't know for sure. But it may be that you are near electrical interference or cell phone activity.I have noticed a deference for me around power lines to go to switch position 3.Do you know which number matches which number? Thanks.

The freq are so close together that there is no difference in detection depth or sensitivity. Whenever you change the freq sw. the detector needs to be reground balanced. If you were a little out of bal before you flipped the sw you may have gotten it closer to being balanced and thus improved the performance.
