I couldn't believe my luck! Went to a school yard on a short hunt, school built 1950's, old fence runs through small grove of pine trees.Lots of trash in ground multiple targets every sweep cans, bottle caps,pulltabs,foil..you name it ..it was there.Thumbed knob to full discrimination lots of pops, clicks, growls, then a solid beep.Went back over again..a solid beep,so i dug, and out pops a tiny child's silver ring (marked sterling) its so small it fits in a penny.Tried to take a picture but my camera is crap on something this tiny..try to borrow a good camera to post picture with.I got to tell you all I am so impressed by this machine!

Nice going! The Vaquero will zero in on the small stuff.

tabman

Thanks tabman, this ring is sooo small that my piece of crap camera wont focus to post a decent picture. At first i though it was some sort of uncorroded tiny metal o ring seal until i saw the word sterling inside. Its been in the ground a while, wasn't all that deep maybe 4 inches, rough digging though lots of roots. You're right about the Vaquero good tone on this tiny object.

nice find

Gotta like silver. Finds among roots are usually best. My theory is if ever detected before; those before did not want to hassle with the root.
