vaquero ring finds of 2013

coinscratch

Been awhile since my last post(last fall) would like to share my vaquero ring finds of 2013[attachment 292702 summerpictures040.JPG] [attachment 292703 summerpictures042.JPG][attachment 292704 summerpictures046.JPG] silver ring finds from parks, school yard ball fields, apple ring appears to have diamond chip. Found a gold ring 14k 12.6 grams griding where an old bleacher was located.Had ruby that turned out to be glass cashed gold for $234.00 and bought this camera.Junk rings[attachment 292705 summerpictures040.JPG][attachment 292706 summerpictures048.JPG][attachment 292707 summerpictures049.JPG]large glass stone ring has "ste" engraved inside band although seems to be aluminum band. Blue stone heart is rolled gold much to my disappointment.Because of my work schedule have only been out ONCE this year with only .17 cents in clad and no silver coins yet, ever, to date,I keep my vaquero first notch under the nickle and dig every repeatable signal although you dig more trash found this method the most productive

It looks like you're having a great time with your Vaquero. Setting the discrimination low and digging all good signals is a great strategy and is fun.

I use a sports foil cap to set my discrimination. I've tested a lot of gold rings and I'm comfortable with that setting. The discrimination dial is just under the mark that you use.

I set the disc low today and started digging. Dug quite a few tabs, but finally in one hole I got a glint of gold. Nice big earing, but it turned out to be a junker. Had my heart going for a minute though!

Nice finds coinscratch. Now you got me thinking about cashing out a 14k gold men's ring I found 2 years ago when I lived in Utah. Now I have relocated to Virginia and brought my detectors with me. Still lovin the hobby and digging that sweet sounding music of the compadre sniffing out the next target. Don't get out much these days either, but I hope to add a lobo to the arsenal soon. I did get out on Saturday for 2 hours before work and found myself a place of interest to detect. It is an old school house from the 1830's. I can't wait to open up the eldorado and the bandido on this sweet new spot. I hope to find some good stuff if only I can find the time. Good luck and happy hunting.

Thats a lot of rings, in one year ,

i like that turks head ring. you certainly had a good year.

That's a nice collection of rings. WTG! I need to take some time away from the farm fields and hit some schools with my Vaquero. :)
