Member
Hi ,i have just bought a Vaquero and i wondering about the ground balance control.
Should it stop at both the + and - signs.Mine just keeps turning,is this a problem?

Thanks

didn't you read the bloody manual, you can go on for ever, but it tightens up slightly both ways so you know you have gone too far, wake up,dork.blowfly

There's nothing wrong.
Here just do this--turn the GB knob five turns counterclock wise then 2 turns clockwise.
OK
Thats all there is to it.
David

Thanks David, i should have mentioned it was a secondhand detector and didn't come with a manual.

And special thanks to you too BLOWFLY,

regards dork.

I might add once you get it ground balanced in future hunts any adjustments will generally be small. A little gain, a little loss, whatever, usually no more than a quarter turn. Maybe in some parts of the Country under different soil conditions that may not be true, but here in southcentral Pennsylvania I have to make very few adjustments to the ground balance.

The devil of trying to explain ground balancing a Vaquero it takes so many words to explain. If I were there I could show you in 30 seconds of less. :tesoro:
