Vaquero Question ?? HELP Please

BillyBr

New member
I just Purchased a Used Vaquero and it came with a Metal Screw and Knob to join coil to shaft. "Looks Factory issued" My question is ! Should I replace the Metal screw with a Plastic One "Will it help Add any Depth or Sensitivity"

The metal screw is fine.

A number of my machines use them.

It will cause no loss of sensitivity.

I still recover very small bits of foil!

This used to puzzle me too, but when I gave it some good hard thought I came to the concluion that as long as the screw is tight & moves with the coil it won't matter. But if the screw is loose and can move the detector might pick it up. Kind of like having a loose coil wire next to your coil. Steve.

when I got my Eldorado. Then I got my V and it has one too?

Thanks for the question and responses!

The field adjusts to the presence of the screw, just as it does to the presence of minerals in the soil. You can put a nylon bolt if you like. but it wont matter.

Thanks for all the replies, I couldn't stand it - ran off to the hardware and purchased a 1/4 x 11/2 Plastic, Well  what did you expect
