Vaquero Prospecting?

Hi all, has anyone ever tried gold prospecting with the Vaquero and exactly how do you set your setting's?

All-metal if in very quiet ground, otherwise run in Disc, and keep your discrim as low as ground conditions will allow.

I remember not too long ago someone posted a spreadsheet that showed the results of several Tesoro coils on very small gold. If I remember right, the very best was the 10" eliptical, the next best was the 5.75" widescan. It was a close second.

I've compared my Vaquero and Nokta Fors Gold all-metal modes on small nuggets, and there isn't much between them. But when I put the small DD coil on the Fors it's like a different machine.
So I'd say that a small widescan coil would improve the Vaquero by a big margin. If only the all-metal mode was as sweet sounding as my Bandido II umax!

It is a great machine for nuggets with the 5.75 DD coil! AM with threshold slight hum, Sens @ 6-7 & dig every zip! Check GB often, at least every 10 ft or so in high mineralization.
