Vaquero or Golden Umax for coin hunting

I know this question has been asked but I have to ask...........Got to try a vaquero the other day and really liked it. It ran quiet and and went fairly deep. I did not dig any iron that came in as a good target. Heres the question. I like to hunt mostly trashy parks and really like to coin hunt and will take the occasional ring that shows up. These parks are loaded with low conductor trash. So I really want to be able to use some sort of discrimination. I know you can thumb the discrim knob on the vaquero to get an idea what the target might be and the Golden has notches you can set. Do you think it would be too much of a pain to use the vaquero in a setting like that? Would the Golden be a better choice for areas like that? Are they good in heavy iron sites? Any problems with iron falsing on the Golden. Thanks.

I think the Golden umax would be with the tones and it runs on a low freqency, hope it helps.

I like tone id over single tone units in modern aluminum trash. The tones give me some idea of whats in the ground without having to dig it up or stand over something thumbing a disc knob. In fact I like the tones for target id even better than a meter.

Good luck with your decision.

Yeah, likewise. I did not, at first, like to use my old Royal Sabre because it was preset at bottlecap reject at lowest disc.,but in these areas it was sure nice to pass over the tiny nuisance trash and also have some idea as to the other targets in the area with the tone id.

Sinoly put tone ID notches of a golden would be my choice for a trashy park and the single tone of a Vaquero for deeper silver would be my choice. A dedicated hunter would certainly have more than one unit and would make a good combo to handle various facets of hobby...
