Had to do it, Ha Ha

The Vaquero is on the way.:clapping:

Everyone with advise on settings please chime in.

You're going to love the Tesoro Vaquero. It's one sweet machine. If you're looking for gold, set the discrimination on the lower iron mark and start swinging.

I recently got a new Vaquero and it is one sweet detector. I'm amazed at the tiny objects it finds and still gives a solid signal. Today I found a 1935 mercury dime that was on edge at about 8 inches. It gave a solid hit one way and a choppy signal the other but it gave a signal you would definitely dig.
It operates smooth and silent until you go over a target then it really lets you know something is under the coil. I'm very happy with my Vaquero and you will be too. It is a great detector with excellent discrimination and will certainly hit those deep targets with ease. I was running my disc at iron and checking good hits with the disc knob. Much more accurate than a meter I think. HH

I bought my Vaquesro locally ( Edit). It was the best money I have spent in the hobby so far. They just seem to work awsome and goes way deep compared to my previous detectors. Negative is I have to dig deeper to find my targets. I have the low tone and at first I did not like it but now I seem to prefer it. I do not beleive you will be dissapointed in this acquistion.
Enjoy!

Usually I will set the disc at just a little below the foil line since the 3 gold rings I have found so far have come in above this mark.
Sense at at least 8 or higher if it won't chatter, and I usually supertune...set the thresh at 3 o'clock...higher than this will not be necessary.

Eventually, read up on Monte's advice on power balancing...just do a search.
Seems to really work.
