Several of the other posts brought up these questions..1 Can a ten turn pot be installed to fine tune ground balance? I had a modified T-20 Fisher that used a 10 turn, and it out kicked everything in its day. I have been thinking the ability to fine tune ground balance might gain extra depth ?? 2 Sound, Could the Vaquero produce the same sound as the Silver? I don't use phones(so far) and the deeper tone of the Silver comes in loud and clear, even at faint,deep levels...An absolute plus...3 The statement was made that Tesoro had an employee who had a detector business on the side..Is this the person that could modify my" V"..Or is there anyone else I could hire?..Know nothing about electronics, except everything I touch no worka no more..Dave has done some modifications in the past, Battery pack system, recharger plug built in, different outlet for phones, some really neat dial mods..Cordially.... Yes, you can add a 10 turn pot.
You can fine tune your GB with more precision.
Example:
Instead of 1-4-7-10-13-17-20 click adjustments, you can adjust 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12 etc.
So if you pick up hot rocks at 7, next adjustment would be 10.
And if hot rocks adjust out at 8, you can only do it with a 10 turn pot.
For the average person, 3 3/4 turn GB is good enough.
By the way, Bourns 10 turn pots just jumped in price from $16.00 to 27.00.
