Vaquero "High Tone"

xwyokid

Well-known member
Sorry to be ignorant, but here goes. I'm am hopefully going to purchase a Vaquero next week. I was on a dealer site that shows the Vaquero for $420 and a High Tone Vaquero for $15 more. What is the difference between the two? Does it mean the high tone will emit a higher tone when it finds a coin? Thanks for any help.

When I got my first Tesoro, the Cibola, the local dealer said that he didn't have any of the high tone models, but I could send it in for the high tone mod, or wait till he gets it in. I didn't wait or send it in. I think he said the high tone puts out a higher audio frequency tone preferred by many.
I have excellent audiogram test results and felt the extra 15 bucks (or whatever it was) for the tone mod wasn't necessary. But most prefer it I guess.
My Tejon has the tone knob and I run it a little lower than most I know who have the Tejon.
I also thought (don't know why) than when the hearing goes, the higher tones go first.
When I hear the booming banging stereo systems in cars go by, I'll hear the bass last when they are a ways away. Feel it too

I'm sure other's can chime in a better answer........

and I tend to agree. With good headphones there is a very subtle language on the 'three Amigos' (the C, V, and T)

Wonder if I could use a wireless headphone transmitter on my MD and put the other end in my kids car... in the parking lot?

:super:

I have a low tone Cibola and the Tejon. I usually prefer the low tone because the high tone can at times be piercing to me. It may give subtle differences in the way it beeps, I don't know. But it usually just gives me a headache.
