Vaquero Ground Balance,Tejon Modes

I'm looking for my first detector. I have a question about the Ground Balancing on the Vaquero. Does it use the manual GB in both all metal and disc modes? The Tesoro description of the Tejon clearly states that the Tejon does, on the Vaquero it does not say?

What are the Slow Auto-Tune All Metal and All Metal Fast Auto-Tune modes on the Tejon.

Thanks

TRY GOING TO THE TESORO FACTORY WEBSITE, AND LOOK UP THE ONLINE MANUALS TO ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS AND GIVE YOU A BETTER IDEA.

I dont have a Vaquero, but I believe that it is Manual GB for both modes. I was trying to think of any of the detectors in Tesoros arsenal, besides the Cortes that operates like that, and I'm not coming up with any. I'm sure someone will be more than willing to correct me on that if I'm wrong:) To me the slow and fast autotunes are both too fast, if you are trying to pinpoint. The Pinpoint mode, using the trigger, would always tune out way before I had the target pinpointed, so I ended up using the trigger soley for ground balancing the detector...hold the trigger, bob the coil and balance the detector. I personally like the older slower retune speed for the older tesoros. The newer ones always tune out the target too soon for my tastes. Plus, with the Tesoros, they seemed to do excellent just by "X-ing" over the target, when your wanting to pinpoint. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the replys

They did help

I did read the manual ,it implies that the ground balance is for both modes but does not say it.

Rentasquid I was wondering if you could use the pinpoint button to check and adjust ground balance Thanks

That, I cant tell you. I did it with the Tejon, and it worked real good. But without trying it on the V, I wont say for sure. But, if it worked on the Tejon, I dont know why it couldnt be done on the V. It might be harder to reach the button and bob the coil? I dunno.

No The Vaquero's ground balance only applies to the all metal side(or mode). The Tejon is the only Tesoro that I'm aware of that the ground balances applies to both all metal and disc. The Lobo I've never tried, so I'm not certain about them. I own a Tejon. HH

The Tejon, Vaquero, and the Bandido line along with some other older models with manual GB affects both all metal & disc. modes.. The Cortes and Lobo Super Traq does NOT. These two only manually GB the all metal mode.. These are the ones I have personal experience with. There are probably other models in both categories that I haven't tried.... Dave

I don't mean to be stubborn here. uh....honest. But the Vaquero does NOT ground balance both modes. Perhaps we need an independent firm to come in here and verify this. HH

Sorry RV but you are wrong, the ground balance on the Vaquero DOES effect both modes. A call to Tesoro will confirm this.

It was explained to me by my dealer that it doesn't. But if this is the case, then it is not my dealer who is the maroon. But me, for not backing up this info with my own research. I'm not certain that effects the disc. and controls the disc. are one in the same. But in any case. My apologies to all. HH
