I think I finally got it figured out--
Here are ( hopefully ) pictures of my first finds with my new Vaquero !!
I went to visit my Grandson and while there I convinced my Son to let me do some searching in his yard with the hope that since his house was built in 1945 we might have some success, the pics are of what we found in his back yard alone and we had a ball. Some of the items are: Memorial Lincolns, Wheaties, a 1943 silver war nickle, several clad dimes, clad quarter, 1964 Jefferson nickle--28 coins in all, a silver spoon, a good luck charm, a small religious medal, a shell casing ( can't tell what calibre ), parts of a toy gun, a broken lead or tin soldier and horse, some chunks of melted metal from a fire that was at the house long before my son purchased it. I'm not sure what kind of metal they are but they sounded off when I was discing out iron, some pieces of heavy old glass that was in several of the holes where we found metal items, a small bell that may have belonged on a cat collar, an old glass marble, a zipper pull, various iron junk, and what I think may be a heel plate off of a boot ( not sure on that one so if anyone has a guess as to what the item with the heart shaped cutout is, let me know whatya think ). The toy truck, the tiny costume jewelry "diamond", and the .22 shell casings are from my yard.I am amazed at the power and accuracy of my Vaquero, and this trip helped me learn what the V is telling me with tones alone, I'm so glad that I decided on this machine and didn't get sucked in by the digital options, and please don't be offended if you use a screen machine, there is no disrespect intended to those of you who use digital machines. Thanks to all on the Tesoro site that encouraged and advised me so far in my new hobby--er, umm--addiction.
