vaquero disc switch bad???

just bought me a vaqueroa couple weeks ago .after a couple uses i did not get the battery good beeps so i changed battery and continued 20 min total. today two three weeks later i go to do some hunting and my good charge beeps are not all there so i run up to the station and get a new 9v install works fine but then starts cutting out so i thinks its my headphones i unplug and run for a minute then it starts cutting out and i narrow it down to the disc switch . i have to apply slight down and to the left pressure to make the switch work so im thinking my disc. switch has crapped out anybody else had this exp??? i contacted the fellow i bought it from to see if he could fix it i was just wondering if this is a common thing or just more of my unfortunut luck . thanks

could be dirt in there. can you open it up and spray the control with contact cleaner. Don't use WD40 whatever you do.
