Vaquero default ground balance ?

When in an area that is difficult to GB because of all the metalin the ground , should a person start with the GB knob at the 12 oclock position , turn it counter clockwise 5 full turns then clockwise 2 full turns? Thats what the instructions say to do for air testing.

In my area most of the ground is the same, mild. I ground balance my detector and put a mark on the face with a permanent marker. It's not really permanent, it comes off with rubbing alcohol, Even when I'm out and do ground balance the pointer is on or very close to the mark. I've done it so many times that I don't hardly fool with ground balancing anymore. Talk about easy. It's like having a fixed ground balance that's set to my to my soil.

You definitely want to GB to the soil, not a piece of metal, but I've never been an area where I couldn't find a bit of ground to balance to. Just had to search a bit.
