Wow! anybody says that wasn't fun just don't know what clean fun is! the scissors may be a high grade metal. being a former knife collector and having a buddy that has owned knife shops and is knife maker, he also sold and sharpened scissors. some of the queen steel and german brands were superior quality metal, and may have a little bit of nickel in them or plating on them, was it a good signal? we still hunt them at flea markets. just watch out for covered up wells on the old farm. had a friend fall in one and was lucky. i know several you could not get out. not good places to hunt alone. wish my wife could share hobby, but unfortunately she can't. i have read stories and know of old timers that buried jars of coins in and around barns and outhouses during depression. remember the old jar tops were glass with wire hoops, but then came the zinc screw owns that we find regularly partially eat away by soil. anyway, happy hunting! refreshing post!
