vaquero coil screw

anybody have one of the vaquero's with the metal screw to hold the coil on as opposed to the plastic one's they ship out now? would seem to me that it would somehow affect the coil, but i suppose they would not have put them on there in the first place if it were a problem, and i am sure they were tested. but why then did they change them to plastic? anybody ever have an issue or notice a difference after changing?

I wondered that too and came to all the same conclusions you did.

I used to have a Bandido II and a Silver Sabre II - both had them and there was never any problem that I knew about. I dont wonder if the change wasn't more in resoponse to customer perceptions than any real effects of the screw.

Hi findit, it is ok to use the metal coil bolt because as you swing the coil the metal bolt is in unison with the coil and not causing any eddy currents to flow on it. Ok I hope this helps. God Bless and happy hunting.
