Vaquero chews up the GOLD today...

Took the new Vaq out for a little woodchippin' today. I like to use this medium as a way to test out new detectors, since there are a lot of constants and the diggin is easier. I had no surprises to speak of in the operation dept - pure Tesoro.

I did find that the Vaq likes to softly signal on large, deep iron and soda cans. I mean I was diggin to China on some of this stuff! No different with others, I might add.

The Vaq has a quick response time and I found it quite easy to speed up if I chose, and not miss anything - this is in wood chips mind you, where most targets are above 5".

I would wish for an all metal mode with a slower retune - I like to hover a bit as I PP. In order to deal with that, I just use the old negative, or null, AM pinpoint. It's my only gripe and it aint much, as the Vaq pinpoints quite well in DISC without switching to all metal. The Vaq became my go-everywhere detector, today.

All told I found $3.01 in change, the usual trash suspects, some TEEEEENY rivets and a fired .38 cal bullet. Also uncovered was an itsy-bitsy little charm in the shape of an "S" and some FALSE TEETH.

They're in the bottom right of the photo and are the front teeth, all gold on the rear. As dental gold is normally 18K, it's a nice little find. They were fairly deep about 4", so are well aged. Somewhere in the past was a person unable to eat apples!!
