Vaquero at the beach.

Looking for first metal detector. Live in Wilmington, NC and I am wondering how well the Vaquero will work on the beach?
Would get Tiger Shark but they still aren't in production yet. Would Cleansweep coil help with wet sand?
Thanks for for input.

not sure on a vaq at the beach ,I own a lobo and a vaq for dirt .for the beach and water I got a detector pro wader from MRBILL.this is one great water machine for the money.using the stock 8" coil I have pulled more gold/sliver out of the water then with any other machine I've had in my 20+yrs of detecting.also got a quarter at a measured 14" thru sand/clay.plus all the controls are in the waterproof headphones so all you're swinging is a stick and coil-extremely light, powerful unit.check them out and the best place to buy is from MRBILL-hes very honest his ad is on detector pro forum.also think it is on fisher-Fseries and possibly else where.here

I use the V on Texas beaches with no problems, most time I run the sens between 3 and 6, disc set to what ever the trash conditions require. Dry or wet sand doesn't seem to matter, I even submerge the coil a couple inches sometimes. Once in awhile I hit some small areas of highly mineralized sand and it gets unstable, but these areas are few and far between. Use a cover for the control if you have a lot of wind and blowing sand or salt spray. Good luck
