my used vaquero arrived last week.finally assmebled it as i got some time off...initial impression is...wow....
light..i mean light.....really light.....and the balance....wow....did the sens/battery check and it acted right...i'll take it outdoors monday and ground it properly...but given the condition the unit is in...i expect everything to work just fine....
thanks to all the fellow treasurefind treasure hunters out there.....
i managed to snag a nice brown tesoro gunslinger style case off of here.
also got my 3by 18 hothead widescan off here used...looks new...an eight inch coil....looks fine...
and my 5.75 hot coil..looks new as well.....

at least i'll LOOK LIKE i know what i'm doing......lol
the general public will never realize that i couldn't find an old castiron bath tub in a kids sandbox...lol.....

one last question regarding tsoro vaq?do headphones make much of a difference?

Yes they do, as everyone will tell you..............you'll hear much more.....Just get yourself a really good set. I use the new Ratphones, they work great with Tesoros.

Two other reasons:
1) Bystanders, kids won't come running see what all the beepings about..............they can be like mosquitoes...toss pennies in front of you... grab the goodie out of the hole before you can. A big knife can deter some folks........kids.....brats.......

2) You can play deaf and dumb when , when people come up to you and start asking questions, etc.
