Vaquero and beaches

Does anybody have any experience using the Vaquero at the beach? How "wet" can the coil get? Can I go a couple inches into the water? How about a Compadre? Does the lack of manual GB make it to tough?

With the Vaq I have gone till water is near the control box. Just remember, 1 fall, 1 wave, or a good hard splashing and it's all over. If it's not too trashy I go vco all-metal on the sand, it's the onl way to get the fine gold.

If your in salt water you will have to lower the sensitivity quit a bit and stay in the wet, once you go dry sand you will be good at a higher setting.
