Vaquero 9x8 or 11x8

Both are good coils. Depth will be about the same, but disc will be more consistent and accurate with the 9x8 concentric. That said, I like the way the 11x8 is made more than the 9x8, and the 11x8 covers more area per sweep. If you're doing open spaces without much trash...either coil is fine, but again, discrimination is better with the 9x8. If lots of trash to deal with, get an additional 5.75" concentric to compliment whichever stock coil you decide on.

I rarely use either of those stock coils, but prefer the 8" donut or 5.75" concentric most of the time. I usually hunt pretty trashy spots where those two work best for me.

If you'll have iron trash like nails or bottlecaps to deal with, I would pick the 9x8 over the 11x8. Concentric coils just work better on Tesoros... I'm sure others are huge DD coil fans though, so they'll probably disagree... :smoke:

I have the Vaquero with both of those coils. To tell the truth, can't really say if one is better than the other. Used just the 8 x 11 all this past year and did not find anything more than the 8 x 9 would have. I'd say get the 8 x 9 one personally, it's just a better all around coil in my honest opinion. I'm sure some on here will disagree and absolutely loose their minds over it. haha. This is not from air testing, nail board testing, this or that test. This is based from out in the field actual detecting experience with both of those coils...
