vaqs on the beach

cousin jack

New member
I plan to visit a buddy in Florida in February. So will my vaq do ok at the beach? dry sand only or salt water sand ok ?
Is there an etiquet like the bowling alley ? Are there laws requiring permits or worse? Are historical items a no no?
Flying these days might make it hard to carry the vaq on a jet . Yes - no? I ' m a scairded .

I just acquired a "V" and have been playing with it since Christmas (thanks Richard).
Anyway, I doubt it will do well on the "wet sand" but there are an awful lot of places to
hunt and the digging is so easy. Get yourself a small scoop for sand sifting. I set my "V"
to just pickup a women's 14kt ring (below nickle on the dial) and scoop and sift the results. Granted you get alot of tabs
but hey you are sifting not digging and pinpointing.
