vaq tones?????

i to have the vaq . i had to send it back to have the disc knob repaired and i asked for the high tone to hear better.i did notice that i didnt have a variation in tone excecept for a alum. can or bennie wennie can it did make a different tone more of a ding rather than a ping but it seemed to be the same tone on everyhing else am i correct in this or my ears arent picking up the different tones????

not a difference in tones per target. but an increase in pitch of the whole sound.
