Hay cousin jack,i had the same exact thing happen to my VQ,I think this is a good time to maybe help others on saying just try not to twist cord and connector while reassembling unit,i always take mine apart to travel by bicycle and noticed at times if not careful one could get cord pulled to tight pulling on cable.I sent mine in and tesoro had it fixed in no time,that lifetime warranty is really a winner,tesoro is awesome,that's why i am liking them so much,besides the fact in my experiences,the best period,light,deep,quick,not overpriced,i am one that only wants on a detector what is really neaded,the other stuff alot of other detectors have is just extra weight,and battery drain and the others just do not preform as well and i pretty much been through every brand and type,i do not believe in id meters either,i think i can hear pretty good.I can't wait to get my tiger shark.A VQ&TS what a combo.Chuck.
