Paid for one about 3 months a go. Now can't seem to find out anything about projected shipping to dealers/distributors. Any help from the Gurus? With the experts we have on this forum, someone knows something. Thanks!
A dealer on another forum has one for sale listed like new so it looks like some of them have shipped. You better check with the dealer you bought it from.
Paid by check and a trade. I totally trust the dealer. None of us can find out from Minelab about anticipated deliveries of the Vanquish. I emailed Minelab 3 days ago and no answer. If it had been a certain other foreign detector mfg. I would have had an answer within 24 hours.
must be delivered within 30 days or give you a FULL refund automatically, unless he asked for extension and you told him you would extend it by a "specified" number of days.
If he refuses go to the Postal Inspector and contact the BBB, You can also call your State AG. Unfortunately there are a lot of deceptive and dishonest people in mail order.
Next time pay by credit card--contact them and they will void the transaction.
(If you had your money back you may have optioned to get it from someone else, sooner.)
I saw a used one for sale on another forum and a few at least are being used and talked about so apparently they have been and are being shipped. HH jim tn
Vlad is correct about there being a 30 day rule,\. The “30 day rule” is actually a rule issued by the Federal Trade Commission - the FTC - and it applies to phone and on-line orders as well
Why You Should Comply with the Rule
Merchants who violate the Rule can be sued by the FTC for injunctive relief, monetary civil penalties of up to $42,530 per violation (any time during the five years preceding the filing of the complaint), and consumer redress (any time during the three years preceding the filing of the complaint). When the mails are involved, the Postal Service also has authority to take action for problems such as non-delivery. State law enforcement agencies can take action for violating state consumer protection laws.
(Some good info in that link lytle78 )
I seem to vaguely recall the FTC being involved too. (I think they have been involved in some price fixing//restriction of trade cases against some detector makers too, Whites to name one.)
But there are local postal inspectors everywhere and you can see them in person, and usually they are fast and very personable.
Each State's Atty Gen Offices of Financial Institutions, and Consumer Affairs can get things moving too.
Also I think the guy's post mentioned a trade was involved in the deal; if the dealer violated the time constraint, that nullifies the deal as to trade and any item can be returned too.
(I seem to recall violating the time limit is considered a bad faith act.)
I've had problems with Sarco on gun parts, and my CC company said to ship back what I received (regardless of store return policy.)
The last thing most stores want to deal with is a return//refund, and they will work harder on making it right.
The people on FINDS DEALERS LIST are very good and you will not have trouble.
It took at least five months from the time it was announced before the Nox started shipping in dribbles and drabbles. So the Vanquish is just looking like it will take about the same amount of time. Companies announce a new item well before they can ship in hopes that people will not buy a different brand in the meantime.
