Vanishing Compass

Gday guys from down Australia way.

Had my X now for a couple of months and now feel its time to start dicking around with the GPS function.
Here's the thing that I think may be part of the problem I'm experiencing
In the first few days of using my CTX a mate out in the field reset my machine for reasons I wont go into.
This was a easy fix at that time with that small problem at hand.

The next day many weeks ago I very quickly noticed I lost time set wireless sink and a few other settings.

But the main one that niggled me ,but I've not worried about till now was loosing the compass feature. ( it used to be there )

What I mean by this is it should be in the lower left hand corner of the screen working like a compass but isn't.

Its just not there where talking blank and I can't for the life of me find how to turn it back on
there's no how to turn the compass feature in the manual. It seems to asume it's there already.

So any guidance please I just want to turn the bloody compass back on:shrug:

Thanks folks

In the options screen, look for map screen, click on it, and there you will find compass

Thank you I now have a picture of a compass but that's all

Should it not point north with a red arrow within spinning around no matter which way I face.

Does not seem to be enabled, the lat / long don't change numbers either

Go to GPS button, turn it to OFF, and then ON again to reboot for satellite

Yep did that with thanks but unfortunately all I get is a picture
of a compass with no indication of which way I'm facing.

In the photo below for instance I'm facing west but you would never know that from my none activated compass.

The compass does not function like a compass in a cell phone or whatever. The top of your screen is always north when looking at the GPS mapping screen.(like the symbol in the upper right shows. You have to have geotracking on and start walking to get oriented so you know what direction north actually is. The red arrow will point to the actual direction you need to go, if returning to a FP or WP, be the direction to the FP or WP is southeast or whatever, of where you are standing. A bit confusing at times, and something I would like to see changed. It would be much less confusing if the compass would spin (like the compass in the cell phone app by Minelab).
