Can anyone tell me what my really nice :tesoro: Cortes condition is really nice (96% if not more  out of a 100) is valued at i don't know the age of it so if anyone can help with that much appriciated. Thank you Paul

500 $ just a guess never owned one or checked to much on resale value, but haven't seen many 2nd hand ones for sale so not sure what that means?

Original shipping box plus all weather cover goes with it .

You could try to do a google search for Cortes for sale might only find some old postings but at least you might get an idea of what you could sell it for.

I dont live across the pond so cannot give a dollar valuation on the detector, the trouble is although the condition is about as good as it get its not one of the most popular models going so my personal opinion is i think you could struggle to sell it at a fixed price. What folks think its worth and what folks are willing to pay for such a item could well be poles apart,i am noy knocking the detector or trying to put the mockers on it,but its worth thinking about how popular it is and the supply and demand criteria and i think it may well be worth placing it on Ebay or even the forum buy/sell section with a realistic price on it,on Ebay possible with a low starting price but with a reserve on it.

Sorry i cannot be more positive but i always try and look at thing realistically,if the Cortes was a very sort after machine then you could command top money for it,some detecting items go for ultra stupid high prices like the Bigfoot coil.

Good luck and hope you find a buyer for it quickly at a good selling price.

If you go on that nasty auction sight and do a search for Tesoro Cortes and then check the used box and the completed listings box you can see what past ones sold for. This is how I normally get an idea of price for things I sell.

Not a collectors item, box means nothing in terms of value. All weather cover again adds not much value, a plastic lunch baggie works just as good.
You would not want to pay $500 for a 10 year old used one when you can buy a 1 year old one at that price or lower, if if the condition is top notch.
But on ebay, most don't know they have not changed in 10 years so wouldn't second guess they are buying an old machine in top notch condition for the same price as a 1 year old used machine.
About 5-6 years ago, you could buy a used Cortes for $250-300 in top notch condition. Since Tesoro raised the prices, people are now willing to pay more for a used machine. And sometimes crazy prices
on the Abaa auction site. In reality there are much better new and used model target ID machines on the market than the Cortes in the same price range and lower. But, the Cortes still has a good following. Had two myself over the years. Wouldn't buy another. Think most out grow it pretty fast for one reason or another.
