Took my backup detector with me to vacation and managed to find a few old relics. This site on the gulf coast was probably already hunted by other detectorists because there was nothing left but small objects. The soil was easy on the relics, they came out of the ground in excellent condition. Besides the 1906 Barber dime and the 1907 Indian, there was a 1917 wheat, an 1883 oil lamp knob, silver clasp, pocket watch back, steel ball, what I think may be a fired lead musket ball, 2 pieces of buckshot, a brass cuff link that broke when I cleaned it, a heavy brass piece with a buffalo head on it (also STB above the head), a U.M.C.CO. 10ga shell, a W.R.A.CO. 12ga shell, a brass button from the L. Blumenthal & Co clothing store in New Orleans from the 1800s, some old glass and shell buttons, and other brass whatsits. If anybody has info on some of these other objects, I would appreciate the help.
