VA Beach and Cape Cod Hunts

I was in Williamsburg, VA this month for work. I packed the Headhunter Diver in case I had some time to hit the beach. I was without a vehicle but borrowed a co-workers on November 14th. I hit VA Beach hoping to get some of that gold the VA beach pirates are always showing. It was 10:00 PM and a full moon the tide was down and the weather was around 62 Deg what a great night. I could tell that the Hurricanes had dumped loads and loads of sand on the beach I worked hard and fast from 22nd street to 33rd street for 3 hours and came up with .03 cents. Oh well no VA Pirates gold for me. There was about a 2 to 3 foot drop off at the high tide line and the beach had been graded from the storms. That was the only chance I had to work it for the week I was there. It was a great night and hey if ya don't go for it you will never get to say you tried.

I hit the Cape Nov 7-9th with the diver. I was up early every morning from sunrise to about 9:30 am (had to get back to the wife and kids). I hit the beaches in the Yarmouth area. The first morning I was skunked 4 hours and nothing but junk. The next two days brought in a couple bucks in change but no gold or silver.

I did find that my Headhunter Diver did not have what it takes to go deep in this sand. I set the discrimination at zero and the sensitivity at nine to much noise otherwise. I took off my ring and a quarter and could not pick it up at 6" deep. I found this to be true on both the Cape and Virginia Beach.

I love the diver in the non salt water condition It was better than my brothers Whites Surf PI unit but the pulse kicks my but in the salt. I am now considering getting a pulse unit. I am not sure if I want to purchase another Headhunter unit. If anyone is using the HH PI please tell me how you like it. I am also considering the Garrett Infinium LS. I know how the Minelab Excaliber's and Whites Surf PI work as my brother has those units.
