Rob i have my v3i on order from kellyco ..lot guys iv talked to say i shouldve went with etrac ..iv spent lots and lots hours learning v3i ..i tell them v go just as deep and pull as much silver ..they all say still not as good ..your the man what would you tell them on this????

I don't give that kind of advise. They are both excellent detectors and each has its strong points. I own a Minelab SE as well as my V3i and BHID 950. I do well with all of them. We need to spend the time on learning our detectors, not talking about those we don't have. Comparisons just lead to arguments. ROB

All the guys I hunt with have Minelab I am the only one with a Whites when we are all out hunting we all find good target it is who puts there coil over the target first :twodetecting::whites::thumbup:

No problem with the test for the most part.

There is no comparison on service, turn around time, and cost of repairs. Whites wins here for sure. ROB

I chose the V3i for the versatility. I am happy with the choice I made.

i agree with Rob, You can't have them all and why would you, settle into the one of choice and learn it. Everyone is intitled to their own opinion and some i listen to--some--Happy Holidays and HH

:detecting:That is correct, it is a matter of who gets there first. I go head to head with a partner who has a minelab and believe me what ever he hits I can read the signal just as well , but he has to have something else to pin point with because pinpointing is a challenge with the minelabs, the v3i has no problem just by itself.

Yep, there is no substitute for knowing how to use your detector but even a blind squirrel can find a nut if he is under a nut tree.

All detector are only as good as there operator so all detector are good :twodetecting::whites::cheers:

The sound the etrac makes on deep silver being so obvious is a major thing about it (and it would be nice for the V to have this obvious of an alert) but...set the V up to it's own way of alerting on this and your there. Plus....can't say how many times V specific adjustments rule and carry the day. Easy gold is better than easier silver, finding something in a mess, and that interface?!! We are spoiled.
