Sorry it took me a while to post this photo of my last 3 hunts since getting my V3 updated. These were all found in an area we have hunted since 1974 with many different detectors.
Almost all of the bullets were over 10" deep, some 12" in the ground with 2 or more inches of leaves and sticks on top of that.
I have a video I took with my camera digging one of them up and like this one, many bullets were flattened but turned on the edge where the coil could only see about 1/4" of the target and it still picked them up close to 12".
I give credit for these finds at these depths to the boost mode which I hunt in all the time in open woods and use high pro.
Since many were turned on the side with little surface area to detect, some of them would not give Target ID until I got at least 2" of dirt off of them.
The New York button is the only button I have found in these woods that I can recall since 1974 and figured they were not in here since it was between the Union and Confederate lines. You can't tell from the photo but it is loaded with gold guilt. I purposely did not clean it too much.
Not many small targets in these hunts since I had to use the 7KHZ mode to eliminate some kind of EMI and experimented with turning down my gain.
In the past hunts where I could use either 3 frequency or the 22 KHZ I got tons of 22 shorts, bullets, and percussion caps. Also, do to time constraints before it got dark I was ignoring target ID around 1 or 2.
Hope you enjoy the photos and I want to thank everyone for contributing so many tips for using this great detector and to White's for such quality products and unmatchable customer service.
