V3i Question

I know this has been covered in the past but I need a quick answer Please.
What are you V3i people doing to protect the control box and the Screen from damage of dirt and dust?/? Does the DFX weather cover fit the V3i ?.
Thank for the replys I know they will come in fast.
Don

I don't use anything except the screen protector that comes with the unit which is easily and cheaply replaced. White's makes detectors to take a beating, I don't worry about a little abuse. There is some aftermarket covers on Ebay though.

Thanks Larry sounds Good to me
Don

The control pod is sealed and doesn't need a rain cover.

I really like the 3 piece heavy cordura (mine is camo) I got from a vendor off that "auction site". I no longer use the pod protector because under some conditions it was harder to see the display. Also as mentioned above its sealed. The control box and grip protectors are well made. I'm in the habit of keeping my detectors looking fresh. I also use a neoprene cuff pad for comfort.

The DFX cover will cover the control box but the pod cover wont fit the screen on the V3I. If I was hunting the dirt I would only cover the box. I'm on the beach pretty constantly And I am glad I cover both. Since July I can see what a beating both covers have taken.

Hey, Weedwacker

i use this on mind. works good i carry a big sandwich bag with me i keep it in my treasure pouch and put it on the screen when i get caught in the RAIN .....and a
white's weather cover $19.95 for the box.

OK, if you want to cover the control box, that's fine. Nobody wants nicks. The pod doesn't need the sandwich bag. The V pod has been sealed with rubber gaskets. This wasn't true for my MXT. IMHO nobody makes a pod cover that is easy to see through.[attachment 252278 2012-12-17_205437.jpg] I understand on my Minelab SE if I scratch the screen there goes $300+ but for my V it's just $5.

In this case it's what ever you want.

If you want to protect your screen cheap there is a product out there that they use to protect the edges of helicopter blades, Now that is a tough film, bulletproof. I look on E Bay for the outdated sets of the film used to cover a laptop. These out moded sets go for about $5, and you have enough to do a dozen detectors. You cover the entire screen, pads etc.

It just peels off and the replacement sticks right back on. Couldn't be simpler.
