V3i Pin Point Problem

Went out today using my 6X4 Shooter Coil. Tried to dig some iffy signals and they seemed to disappear on Pin Point. I have set my Pin Point to VCO and I believe I have All Metal gain maxed out. Any suggestions.

There is not really a target. When I hunt in stereo mixed mode, if I hear a disc channel hit and no all metal channel it is a false signal. Of course my AM is set to be deeper than my disc.

Center these hits and dig to prove what is there if anything to yourself.

When in mixed mode or stereo mixed mode the all metal needs to be deeper than disc. I never said higher (number), I said deeper.

So to stop this do I need to back off on my Disc?

My RX gain is at 8

My DISC is set at 85

My all Metal is set at 95

I have never seen anybody run a bigger number for all metal then the number of the Disc. All metal doesn't filter the signal so it is deeper. Usually the all metal is somewhere from 15 to 20 numbers lower than the disc number.

Daddy, I said you probably didn't have a real target. For starters you need to back off the all metal from 95, down to something like 65 or 70. As far as the disc, the 85 is fine if all is running smooth. If you get a hit on the disc and can't see it in all metal (pin point)it probably isn't there, it is not a target it is a false signal. It's easy to check. Center the coil over the signal, then if you can't get a pinpoint reading, dig the target it won't be there.

That's what nice about running stereo mixed mode and I have the gains running HOT. If I hear a beep in my disc ear and not in my all metal hear I just keep on going.

Thanks I will try those settings. I may have to switch from VCO back to regualr all metal. On deep targets I get very little if any VCO sound.
