V3i in England

Has anyone used a V3i in England? If so, what program did you use? I am going on a hunt in March and am hoping to get some advice before I go. Thanks!

If you PM me with your email I can email you some European programs as a start. Generally if you in England you will be searching for Hammered coins in large part. That means you will want fast fast recovery speeds and even a 22.5 only program.

EMS,
Thank you for the help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, other than the stock coil, would you suggest using another too?
I hunted in England a little over a year ago with an F75 LTD. Found a Roman from 196 AD and a hammered Groat, along with "greenies" and some milled silver coins etc. But I just started using the V3i and think it will be superior to the F75LTD. Thanks again!

Hey Lousianajim,

I just sent off the programs. For hammered coins I really like the Deus emulation one and it's fun to run. But you will have to play with sensitivity and filters, get those right via testing.

Regarding the coil, good point and I should have mentioned that. I have found hammered coins with the stock coil and it performs extremely well in trashy ground. But really, you should look at a smaller coil IF your iron or trash level is high. I use the 6X10 and would definitely consider a similar sized SEF as I hear great things about them. The Larger SEF coil (10X12) performs in difficult England ground better than the stock coil - I heard via Gary and he has a review on his website about it.

Oh, regarding the F75LTD. I know its a VERY powerful detector as I had the smaller brother in the T2 for years. But to me and many others, they aren't the first choice on coins. Hammereds yes, but not coins in general. They do extremely well on the lower conductors as well and are great relic machines, but again, not my first choice for coins. I think the V3i is an excellent coin machine, especially by just watching for the the three frequency lines in the search screen to line up.

Good hunting,
Albert

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I'd like to find out about programs for Europe as well (I live in Finland). I enjoyed your videos on you tube earthmansurfer. I tried to PM you, but I can't see such option, maybe it's because I've just joind the forum. Please PM me if you can.

Cheers
