I went to the city park after work for a quick hunt and to get some time in on the V3i. First was a 1943-P silver war nickle about 7" deep. It sounded a little broken and the VDI was jumpy but the V3i let me know it was something worth recovering. The key, at least for me, was a repeatable signal, even if broken, and a small size when pinpointing. Next signal was solid as a rock on the V3i in both sound and VDI. I had John check it out with his E-Trac and he said "it might be silver" It was reading a 93 to 97 at about 9". I dug down about 9" and saw that nice silver shine and knew it was a big one. It was a 1937 walker. It just amazes me that we're pulling this kind of silver out of a small area we have hit very very hard for many years with some really good detectors, yet these new detector are pulling hands full of oldies from what we thought was dry.
P.S. the V3i ROCK!
