V3i Coin Program

Curious about this program? I've only had my V3i for a couple of weeks. Bought it used through the Classified forum on here. Very happy with it.

I've been reading everything I can about this machine. I've been seeing people mention the coin program. My detector shows the coin & jewelry program at the top of the program list...
My buddy just bought a used V3i & it just arrived. I noticed on his V3i that the coin program is at the top of the program list. Is my coin program gone? Possibly stored in the library? Or age of my machine is about 5 years--did not include back then?

I know I can recreate the program by modifying my coin & jewelry but trying to learn everything about this machine...

Thanks for any info...

Billy

Hello, Call White's in Oregon @ 541-367-6121 and ask for Mary Hudson.
Have her walk you thru a Hard Reset. I have and she will help you get back on track.
All V3i's came with the coin only program.
She is a Great person and you will be good to go.
Good Luck & Enjoy:detecting:

Thanks for the info. After further reading this morning, I realized that coin program is one of the special programs in the library.

The more I study this machine, I'm beginning to think a hard reset might be nice. That way I can start from scratch.

As Postal Two says, you can restore the program from the Library, as this Library is permanent, you cannot delete anything from the Library. I too bought a used V3i and I have the original V3i that I bought back in 2013. The first thing I noticed was that the programs were in different order. I restored them from the Library, but finally just said to heck with it and went thru the RESET with over the phone assistance from Mary Hudson at White's. It doesn't take but about 5 minutes. I use VCO and do not like modulation, so after resetting, the first thing I do is to go to the expert menu and turn Ratchet off and VCO on. Then I turn modulation off. Everyone has their own preference, but I don't like the ratchet or the modulation.

Thanks to all who have responded. I really appreciate the help & tips. At first, when I started looking at the V3i & all of the menus it was just confusing. Now after more reading & listening to the tips & suggestions, it all makes much more sense. So thanks to all. I do appreciate the help!

You will love the V3i, nothing can beat swing time to get use to your detector. most will depend on what conditions you are detecting in. Understanding what the adjustments will effect will get you a long way.
