Winter does not want to let go here. I've been getting out to relive my grey weather blahs, finding places to dig. The wind and soppy ground being the biggest issues. I'm finding that the D2 coil is gaining favor with me for its stability and depth. Using it forces me to go really slow and this works best when I'm by myself and not "competing" with my friends. I mean really slow, checking blips, signals off the edge, centering over targets and hitting them from different angles. The silver quarter in the hole is a solid 8 inches deep and the signal was a no doubter. Before "going in" I was able to keep the signal hitting hard raising the coil up until the indicated depth was 10 1/2.
Large cent at better than 7".
Got another silver quarter the same outing I found the wiped out large cent:
The day before to the same spot and a silver dime. 3 silvers for three trips.
I'm loving my V3i and have spent many quiet hours learning it in the field and over targets in my yard. I know for sure that some people just don't have the patience for setting it up or just don't like software driven features. I make sure I get a clean GB and I run it with ground tracking locked. I recheck my GB as I move around and rebalance as needed.
Sunday with the IDX Pro / 6" Eliminator coil in a more urban setting I got a little thrill.
the pendant was unmarked but appeared very soft so I did the acid test and it too is 18K.
