Been 5 days since my last video. Think it's time for another. This one is only ten minutes long.
Here is the Youtube description:
This video is to help those learning the V3i by showing what it can do in iron and a little bit on "how". The videos are cut to shorten each target dig to the bare necessity's which mostly focuses on the signal/spectragraph, pinpointing coin and then a check of the whole/plug to show the iron/trash level.
Hunting in iron can be tough. The four coins here were some of the more difficult ones I have dug in the last two weeks. Normally the signals are much more clear. The video opens with a quick investigation of the hunting conditions by Ground Probing the soil as well as checking the sensitivity with zoom function.
No discrimination was used (This helps increase depth as well as aid in unmasking). The iron tone is running with a ZERO tone and there is a threshold going as well. The threshold helps to ID the iron by dropping out over it. The hunt is quiet as far as iron is concerned. This really helps to focus on the sounds you are looking for as there is no distraction or masking from the typical iron "grunts".
The 6X10 and Stock 10" D2 Coil were used. (I don't recommend the D2 in heavier iron as it is more difficult but still an incredible coil if you can use it in the heavier iron.) Basic settings are posted in video. Correlate is always used with a Span of 35 and wrap to -93. The ground balance is done via AutoTrack with a setting of 10 to 15. (low numbers should be used in iron). 5 band filter is used throughout.
My tones are in blocks of 10, meaning every group of 10 VDI's has a different tone.
Hope this is helpful,
EMS
