V3i and black sand

Coinstar

New member
I am tossing between the E-trac and V3i. I will be using it primarily for Beach hunting, as well as Jewelery and Coins in parks, schools etc. I talked with an E-trac user today. He told me that the V3i does not do well on beaches with black sand. Have any of you had problems with any beach conditions with the V3i? Most of the reviews I have read indicate that the beach mode works fine.
Thanks for your responses!

Mickfin is out there in black sand land....... Mick?

Mickfin hear, The v3 Beach program works good, If it falsies Like any unit you got to back off on the power, If you have a lot of Black Sand get a PI unit,
With the V3 on the Beach i get no falsies on B/S in the wet mind you and if I put a US nickel right on top it will see and ID the nickle just Like a Air test,

Back off on the RX and run a high filter 10 or 12.5. I also know to run both salt compensate and salt ground.
