I just recently got my v3 upgrade and decided to head out and check some of
the new v3i features. I went directly right next to a power substation so the
V3i was going crazy. I turned it down a bit and changed the freq. It was now
stable to hunt. This area is loaded...I mean loaded with trash. Can slaw, old
& new bottle caps, pull tabs and foil. When I used the mine lab, I was able to
find things but basically only when the targets were by themselves. The
trash mostly drove me crazy. Not so with the v3. I went from target to
target fairly quickly and analyzed each one. There was 2 that stood out from
the rest...a nice 3 diamond 3/4 carat diamond ring and then a nice wedding
band. I could fairly easily recognize good targets from junk. There was a
couple of times...I was not sure or got fooled but most of the time, I knew
coins & rings from junk. The v3(i) wins hands down on cluing you in on what
is what, over the mine lab. I had to mostly guess before when looking at VDI
numbers etc. and now I can be reasonably sure. I get better each time I go
out and learn new aspects of the analyze screen. I have also found more
valuable items with the v3(i). The v3i is a absolute keeper in my book!
Need to say, I was too busy finding things to check out the new features.
Hopefully, the next trip I can do so,
