v3/v3i

I recently acquired a v3. Thats what it says on the outside cover. On one side is a little round sticker that says "i" inbedded software. So has the machine been sent in and upgraded?
Hasn't been turned on yet, as weather kinda sucks right now

Years back I bought the Vision from a local dealer.
I had it for a short period then one day decided to charge the battery and give it a backyard test.
Just when I got it powered up and running, I was looking at some menus and the dealer called me - says there is an upgrade for a fee.
So in my mind "upgrade" must mean some improvements. The dealer says bring it over and he will have it shipped out same day, so I did.
When it came back, he called for me to pick it up.
It then got the small round sticker i embedded software on one side. Also, the wireless headphones had masking tape across the headband, but I don't recall what the handwriting on the masking tape said. In addition, it came back with a new manual.
So after getting it back all I did then was power it up to see that the detector and headphones work - a few common denomination coins thrown on the backyard lawn.
Since then it has sat in a spare room but a couple months ago I charged the battery pack and found the Ni-Cad pack will not hold a charge. I also have the AA pack so I put some eneloop batteries in and tested the detector and headphones still power up - seems to work then powered it off.
So up to today I have yet to get it out and really do some detecting with it. Someday I'll get in the mood and force myself to give it a go - have a hard time pulling myself from more simplistic detectors.
Can probably search online about the i embedded software and others expand more on what it's all about.

i'm thinking its a v3i in a v3 case. (upgraded)
i powered it up and it seems to be a v3i. Previous owners email is on it so i will email and ask
Nice. Caution playing with those settings.
I recommend using one of the dozen preloaded.
Hey them sausages are great. Thanks.
Now if you could help me figure out my f150 I'd be a happier camper.
